Yes. Yes. And Yes.

The one thing that really bothered me about the MJ editorial that it was so condemning of Jones when it was clear she was too drunk to give consent regardless of what actually transpired. And that it was really one-sided against Jones. I still am kind of confused and troubled by MJ publishing something so condemning of a rape victim. I’m mostly troubled it never brought up the issue of her clearly being WAY too drunk to give consent or even acknowledging the possibility she could be telling the truth. It just tore her apart, and it’s fine to point of discrepancies in the story, but dragging her through the mud and taking things from her background, and basically saying she’s definitely lying and didn’t get raped, that’s what bothers me. There are valid questions to raise about the case, but that’s all the are, questions—not answers. And some of the questions were irrelevant. Reality was she was too drunk to give consent and that wasn’t even acknowledged.
